Professional Picture of Dr. Jane Turnbull, Owner and Care Coordinato

Hi, I’m Dr. jane turnbull PHd, lpc, ncc

After almost 40 years of suffering from some of the most painful medical conditions (endometriosis, chronic kidney stones, gastroparesis to name a few), 13 surgeries as a patient and 7 as a mom, working in mental health including 4 hospitals in many roles from nurse assistant to director - I am eager to turn my pain into purpose.

This online business will start by building a solid resource list, sharing information and hope through posts, raising funds to ultimately provide (pay what you can) care coordinating services and more. We will share everything from local affordable medical services, helpful products, to disAbility friendly hotels. *The A is capitalized on purpose.

There will be information shared from my own experience as a longtime patient and professional within the healthcare system, but I welcome any resources, information, advice and acts of kindness you have to share. I am interested especially in information from those who have been, both the patient and professional within healthcare. Please do not send any confidential information just list resources and share stories without names and details. I want to mostly share (affordable) resources and products as many going “through it” lack finances. Thank you for your time, donations and the honor of helping others turn their pain into purpose!

Why the palmetto tree?

We chose the Palmetto Tree on our logo not only because I am from SC but because I live in AL and have worked and traveled in most of the southeastern states many of which are surrounded by beautiful oceans with palm trees. Palm trees like the southeast are beautiful and can withstand storms as so many of you have. This is a way to fill in the gaps and link people to affordable services so they too can weather their storms and maybe even get to the beach more!

Dream it

I wanted to do this in my 50s but I know after running two other businesses that it takes a few years for a business to grow so I’m starting the building process on my 48th birthday in hopes that by 50 this online business will be thriving.

Build it

To start we will raise funds and build community. Then in a few years my hope is to have a staff of an accountant and a few care coordinators. I also want this business to be something my children can work for utilizing their talents of art and technology.

Mission

To connect individuals and families across the Southeast with clear, compassionate, and accessible resources—offering trustworthy information, hope, and inclusive support, including disAbility‑friendly services and future pay‑what‑you‑can care coordination.

Vision

Our vision is to create a community where every person—regardless of income, ability, or circumstance—can easily access the medical, mental health, and community resources they need to thrive. We aim to become a trusted regional hub for reliable information, inclusive services, and compassionate guidance, ultimately reducing barriers to care and fostering a culture of connection, dignity, and empowerment.
